A rare view inside a fossilized dinosaur egg discovered in southern China reveals a perfectly preserved embryo as well as proof that some of these prehistoric beasts shared much more in common with current birds than previously assumed. Scientists believe the embryo within the egg, which was deposited between 72 million and 66 million years ago during the Late Cretaceous era, was that of an oviraptorid, a two-legged, feathered predator.
