In 2021, Masrur Ishraq, the founder of Third Eye, was awarded the Joy Bangla Youth Award for Social Inclusion for his efforts to assist visually impaired students at the University of Chittagong (CU). Since 2019, his group has provided audiobooks, lecture recordings, and stenography during exams to approximately 400 visually challenged students. He was inspired to launch Third Eye after seeing a student looking for a stenographer before a test. Today, the platform has expanded beyond CU's campus, with 550 active volunteers in Chattogram, Dhaka, Jashore, Feni, and Rajshahi, as well as five additional districts around the country. Third Eye now offers debate, computer, and pronunciation training, as well as many vocational and personal skill development projects, to the visually impaired. Online content, workshops, and YouTube were all used in the platform.
