Rangpur's largest peanut market is seldom located in the same location two years in a row due to changing floods of the Brahmaputra river in Kurigram's Chilmari upazila. The market is always put up next to a boat base, which changes every year depending on the height of the river; this year, both were set up in Faluar Char owing to low water levels. Last year, the symbiotic enterprises were formed in Jorgachh Char. Local farmers told The Daily Star that setting up the market with the boat base every year benefits them greatly since it allows wholesalers from all across the nation to come buy their goods at cheap prices.
