The largest peanut market in Rangpur is virtually never seen in the same location two years in a row due to the fluctuating floods of the Brahmaputra river in Kurigram's Chilmari upazila. The market is always put up next to a boat base, which changes site each year according on the height of the river; this year, due to low water levels, both were set up in Faluar Char. The symbiotic enterprises were established in Jorgachh Char last year. Local farmers told The Daily Star that putting up the market with the boat base each year benefits them significantly since it makes it easy for wholesalers from all over the country to come buy their goods at reasonable costs.
