Rangpur's largest peanut market is almost never located on the same spot two years in a row due to shifting floods of the Brahmaputra river in Kurigram's Chilmari Upazila. The market is always set up close to a floating boat base, which moves every year depending on the river's level. The symbiotic enterprises were established in Jorgachh Char last year. The market is always established next to a boat base that also changes location each year based on the river's height and due to low water levels this year, both were set up in Faluar Char.Local farmers told The Daily Star that having the market at the boat base every year benefits them greatly since it allows wholesalers from all over the country to come buy their produce at cheap prices.
