Due to the shifting floods of the Brahmaputra river in Kurigram's Chilmari upazila, Rangpur's largest peanut market is practically never found on the same site two years in a row. The market is always set up next to a boat base that moves every year depending on the river's height; this year, due to low water levels, both were set up in Faluar Char. The symbiotic enterprises were established in Jorgachh Char last year. Local farmers told The Daily Star that setting up the market with the boat base each year benefits them significantly since it makes it easy for wholesalers from all over the country to come buy their produce at reasonable costs.
