After 32 failed efforts, Bangladesh won against New Zealand by eight wickets at Mount Manganui, scoring their first Test victory over the Black Caps and their first win on New Zealand soil in any format. While the victory was hailed as one of the greatest upsets in Test cricket history, it was a rare exhibition of Bangladesh's pure tenacity and ability over the course of five exhausting days that created poetry of victory. It was a win for the ages in the face of a dysfunctional board that has continually failed to provide fast bowlers with a platform to refine their ability and a poor run of form since the T20 World Cup.
