Diya Siddique - an archer, Olympic medalist and just 17 years of age - was interviewed by Ashfaq Ul Mushfiq of The Daily Star where she shared her thoughts on the progress and scope of women in sports in Bangladesh. According to her, the progress that womens sport achieved throughout the last couple of years show a positive sign. Where men have failed achieve similar results, women have earned excellent results. She is optimistic that the way things are going, similar or better performance is possible but with the condition that proper recognition is delivered. Contrary to general belief - according to her - the wage difference is not there while playing under an agency but it becomes apparent when its time for the national team to pat the salary.
